The SAR (Short Automatic Rifle) is the most desirable of the Galil variants, and this one our last one for the foreseeable future, as parts kits for have all but dried up. In contrast to the standard issue ARM, the SAR variant had a 5" shorter barrel, the gas tube and piston cut down by about 1", typically no bipod, and was issued to both vehicle crews, and Israeli Sayeret of the IDF.
