The Richmond Armory converted vast stocks of captured arms into cavalry carbines and mounted infantry rifles. This is the 25” barrel version of the carbine. Built from an original 1861 to the exact dimensions of of the original carbine. Barrel has a Hoyt 1-56 7 groove liner and has proven to be one of the most accurate muzzle loading carbines available. N-SSA approved for carbine match. The right side of the buttstock has the original owners name imprinted with small tacks. This is typical of southern used arms.
