We have been working with Hoyt machine shop to bring back the exceptional line of Civil War musket barrels that he used to produce. James River is machining the breaches from barstock (not cast) and providing them to Hoyt to fabricate the barrels. These have been contoured to original configuration. Final polishing will be needed. The barrel cost is 395+ 20 for installation of a dovetailed front (provided). Rear sight machining is provided as well as a clean out screw. Nipple threading is original standard 5/16 x 24.
Richmond Carbine barrels are 25 1/2”. The extra half inch is to allow for future recrowning since repeated use of the ramrod may start to wear the muzzle. This barrel is N-SSA approved. 7 groove 1-56 rifling.
