This is a restored original. There is some pitting in the breach area and some minor dings down the barrel. The 69 caliber bore shows light pitting but not enough to warrant a liner. The model 1842 saw extensive use by both sides in the civil war and surviving examples in decent shape are hard to find. We have fired this musket. Popular with the N-SSA smoothbore match.
