This is a restored original Robbins and Lawrence Mississippi rifle dated 1850/51. This is the variant E model done in the late 1850s by adding a short nose cape, bayonet lug and long range sight. This model was rebored to 58 caliber. The rifle has a Hoyt .577 multi groove 1-60 liner. This is the perfect rifle for N-SSA competition and is approved by the small arms committee.
There is light pitting on both the lock plate and barrel. The rear sight is a replacement. Mississippi rifles are often difficult to find in usable condition as the saw heavy use throughout the war.
