The iconic Colt .45! WW II Colt manufactured 1911A1 pistols two-tone slides, that were a result of a lead annealing process, to prevent the slide from becoming brittle. ALL COLT 1911a1s have this, and you will also see spot annealing on most other manufacturers wartime slides in the area where the slide release engages the slide. These are not defects, but distinctions that make it easy to spot a genuine WW II Colt 1911 slide.
